New Short: The Fix-Up

Check out our latest short. Leave some love/hate in the comments.

Here’s the back story on The Fix-Up. The original script by Tim was really long in comparison to the final movie; Like 12 pages or something crazy. He knew it was to be cut up, flipped, reversed, and pooped on. Eric did a pass on it, then Juan and Nick did another pass. By now it was about 4 and half pages long. Chris Perotti arranged for us to shoot at Meritage Restaurant near 20th and Lombard. Great food there, by the way.

Ben got the equipment there with the van. We shot in from 9am to 3pm in Meritage. We shot again on Sunday night for a couple hours outside of SR Headquarters (our apartment). A couple days of editing and here’s a movie.

Fast facts:

Matt hadn’t even read the script when we shot. How did he make the movie look right? We have no idea.

Restaurant Extras: You can spot Juan’s girlfriend as the girl talking with Chuck in the background of a shot. The other extra is Maggie…she made a lot of headway in her book.

Bar Extras: Chris P. and his lady friend Erin are hanging out at the bar along with Anthony the Sound dude.

End scene: Much of this ended up being improvised.
